Welcome to the Dome Sound of House, presented to you by DJ Bruce Wayback. Bruce lived a loving life and lived for this music. He wanted nothing in life but to share this music with the people. He believed that this music was a gateway to peace, happiness, fullness of spirit and above all a strong voice of God.

Bruce is a godfather of house music himself, one that was so low-key, many have not yet heard and not had the chance to get to know. Bruce got his start by learning under the legendary and late Walter Gibbons as Walter stayed briefly in Seattle during a time in the 1970s. The exact year is unknown. Bruce then took the underground disco sound that he instantly fell in love with and became Seattle's (and possibly the west coast's) first underground disco/house deejay. Although he never worked in the studio on his own material, his deejaying alone was an artform as he carefully selected each and every record he played to express the mindset he was in at any given time. He constructed and built stories with his records and to hear all of his mixes is like reading a timeless novel...the story of life itself.

Over the years he would play in various clubs and perform when called. He showed a few others the ropes but after a while he began to realize that he was not fully equipped to be part of a scene that he saw as moving in a different direction. As far as he was concerned, he held the "goods" and any true house head knows what we're talking about here. Many times he was asked to make his music more pallatable to the audience of the area. But Bruce would never sell his soul out or abandon the soul of the artists that he represented as a deejay. So to him this music represented a voice of positive change, with the foundations that came from the voice of the black american gospel, spreading out to people to bring happiness to souls and mindsets all over the world. And he stood by this love and passion and lived to shared it with others, all the way up to his death at age 47.

After deejaying and house music became trendy at clubs and parties with what he felt was more often than not, a more watered down and superficial version of what he knew, he was making mix tapes and CDs in his bedroom to give to those who needed this music for positive growth and grounding of the spirit. He also obtainted a radio show on KBCS 91.3, Seattle for a short period of time called "House Call"..again trying to reach those who were listening for the voice. And in an age where most dance music oriented radio shows do not represent the true sound of house music, he was able to keep it real all the way through thanks to the love and freedom of expression given unto him by KBCS. We think he has over 40 mix CDs and many more cassettes that represent the history, the lineage, the soul and passion of the TRUE sound of house music. We will begin posting them to this site along with some photos and a posting forum and over the coarse of time we hope to someday get them ALL up.

Rest in Peace Brother...we know you are alright and happy. You definately labored, sacraficed and served God and the people with your talents. DJ Bruce Wayback (Bruce Bryce Wayman) July 29, 1959 to March 31, 2007.
